Selby Energy Park – Charterhouse’s asset management drive yields progress at the coalface.

Mar 1, 2024

Significant tenant Van Werven commits to park for a further 10 years and planning is submitted for an additional 3 acres of open storage/energy generation.

Since Charterhouse Property Group acquired the property in June 2023 from Harworth Estates PLC there has been plenty of activity on site. The property comprises a multi-let recycling, waste, storage and energy-focused open storage industrial estate with numerous asset management opportunities.

Van Werven, the second largest occupier, and a high-quality plastic waste recycler have recently regeared all their leases, aligning them and securing their long-term commitment to the location. They have also leased a further 0.61 acre, which consolidates their entire UK operation at this site.

In addition, planning has recently been submitted for a further 3 acres of open storage land to meet local demand.

Guy Holt – Director, has commented:

“Selby Energy Park is an established open storage estate. There is limited local supply of good quality, professionally managed, accommodation. Several factors make this location unique – such as grid connectivity and waste management licenses.”
