Michael is the founder of Charterhouse, one of London’s most active property investment and development companies. He has worked in the UK market since 1988.

He is a multi-disciplined professional with expertise across investment and commercial property. He is also adept in dealing with complex legal structures and land promotion agreements. Michael also focuses on fundraising and partnering with a variety of individuals and corporate entities.

Passion, hard work and a demanding approach are key aspects of Michael’s business style. These attributes have helped Charterhouse grow into a multi-faceted organisation with an entrepreneurial flair.

In Michael’s early career he worked for Jones Lang LaSalle maximising returns on the Langham Estate through an active asset management programme. Later in his career Michael acquired May & Co, a boutique west London estate agency.

Michael holds a degree in Land Management from the College of Estate Management, Reading University.

Chris, a key Charterhouse team member since 2003, drives the company’s growth as one of the UK’s top SME property firms.

His roles include managing the business, assessing property deals, negotiating, and ensuring project success. Chris excels in building strong stakeholder relationships, facilitating seamless transactions, and simplifying tax matters.

Previously, he worked as a commercial surveyor at SHV Energy Group, gaining valuable experience. With a first-class Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying from the University of Reading and a degree in Management Sciences from Southampton University, Chris’s expertise is instrumental in Charterhouse’s success in the competitive UK property market.

Tom has been a key member of the Charterhouse team since 2016 and has been pivotal to it’s recent growth.  

He is a multi-disciplinary professional with a broad expertise. His principal focus is directly on the real estate; sourcing new opportunities and asset managing various projects in order maximise value through to disposal. He has a strong track record in managing complex legal situations and planning permissions and has built an experienced consultant team. He also has an in-depth knowledge of financial modelling to inform acquisition strategy. Tom also works on fundraising and join venture structuring for the group.

Tom previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield where he advised on over £1.5 billion of land and investment transactions.

Guy has been a valued member of the Charterhouse team since 2013. He is responsible for sourcing new commercial opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the industrial, waste management, open storage, and energy generation sectors.

Since 2016, Guy has successfully acquired a large range of industrial portfolios throughout the UK, navigating complex property and legal issues, obtaining planning approvals, and proficiently overseeing asset management strategies until disposal.

Prior to this, Guy specialized in the acquisition of reversionary investments, development projects, and mixed-use residential portfolios in the residential division of the company.

Guy holds a degree in Real Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University and he serves as both an investment and land director.

With over 15 years’ experience, Oliver joined Charterhouse in April 2018 having previously advised the business for several years on various planning and strategic land related matters. He is a Chartered Member of both the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

His primary focus is land promotion where he advocates effective land management and administration as one of the primary drives behind sustainable development.

Oliver invests heavily in the early planning strategy to underpin each site promotion with consideration given not only to the physical aspects of the built and natural environment, but also the economic, social and environmental aspects. He works diligently to maximise the value of each site.

Tom Joined Charterhouse in 2021. His primary focus is acquiring industrial estates and optimising asset management strategies. Tom has several years’ experience working in property and asset management, having previously worked with family trusts and listed property funds at Jones Lang LaSalle.

Tom graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Real Estate Management BSc in 2014 and Finance MSc in 2015. He became a chartered member of RICS in 2019.

Gordon joined the Charterhouse group in 2010. His breadth of experience has been invaluable in ensuring that assets held are managed effectively. Gordon also ensures that disposals that are required are dealt with in a timely fashion whilst maximising returns.

He has over 30 years’ experience in commercial and residential property management. Additionally he also advises a well-known west London based property trust.

Gordon holds a degree and is a well-regarded member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Sacha has been with Charterhouse since 2022, where she has overseen the day-to-day operations of the business. She works closely with the business development and acquisition teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.

With over 15 years of experience in residential and commercial property management, she has a proven track record of success. She has managed various prestigious developments with large on-site and property management teams and has also led company initiatives and growth. 

She is known for her attention to detail, her ability to build relationships, and her commitment to excellence.

Mian is a qualified Chartered Accountant. As a finance professional he has more than 15 years’ experience working in the Real Estate Investment, Property Development and Construction industry.

Mian has led the finance team since joining in 2019 and is responsible for the overall finance operation of the Group. Mian brings a breadth of experience to the company aligning the finance function with the overall business strategy. He also advises on corporate structures, providing support to the Management team in achieving the business objectives.

James joined Charterhouse in 2024. His primary focus is on sourcing acquisition opportunities, transaction management, and the execution of asset management strategies. James has several years of experience in the real estate sector, having previously worked at CBRE IM with a focus on value-added investment strategies.

James has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford, and a master’s degree in Real Estate from the University of Cambridge. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Maria joined as an Accounts Assistant in 2024. She is an adept accounting professional who excels at working swiftly and accurately under strict deadlines and can readily adjust to new circumstances.

With a robust administrative background before transitioning into the accounting field, she has four years of experience supporting the financial department and possesses strong skills in optimising processes with keen attention to detail.
