CHARTERHOUSE ROTATES OUT OF AXLE 120 – STRATEGIC SITE SOLD IN COWLEY, OXFORD

Charterhouse Property Group is pleased to announce the sale of the freehold of AXLE 120 in Cowley, Oxford.  

Charterhouse Property Group acquired the property as a short-term sale and lease back, to UYS Ltd in order to facilitate the previous owner occupiers exit from the site, in July 2021. Charterhouse Property Group has undertaken a number of similar short-term sale and leasebacks over the years as it has proved an attractive structure to owner occupiers looking to realise capital from facilities they are winding down or consolidating within.

The site comprises a c.120,000 sq ft GIA former manufacturing building, set within a 6.5 acre freehold, with a variety of consents granted since the site was acquired from change of use to R&D to most recently demolition and use as open storage. The site forms part of an area of strategic growth in Oxford and the wider area is likely to undergo significant change over the coming decades with over 3,000 homes allocated to the south of the site allocation.
