Charterhouse exits Gloucestershire land interest with sale of 47 homes to Kendrick Homes

Jun 5, 2024

Charterhouse Strategic Land is delighted to announce the completion of a sale to Kendrick Homes having obtained detailed planning permission on appeal last year.

Falling within the North Brockworth Strategic Allocation, the site had been identified by the adopted Joint Core Strategy Policies Map as ‘green infrastructure’ however the Charterhouse team were able to identify a way to unlock the site and submitted a planning application seeking full planning permission in July 2020. Following a refusal of the application by the Planning Committee in July 2021 an appeal was lodged which was determined in April 2023 together with the Planning Inspectorate making an award of costs against the Council.

Commenting on the sale Oliver Taylor, Director, said:

“The drawn-out planning process has meant this site has been a long time coming, but I am delighted for the business and our landowning client to have completed the sale to Kendrick Homes. The site will deliver 47 much-needed homes in a modern contemporary style. Despite the chronic shortage of permissioned land, recent economic headwinds have pushed housebuilders towards sites that can be taken forward immediately. This is something we’ve always been alert to, and why there was strong interest in the site when we launched it to the market.”

Charterhouse Strategic Land is continually seeking new land promotion opportunities (both brownfield and greenfield) for either residential or commercial development across the south of England and the Midlands.
